i've been really productive this week

and it feels good.  I started a short cat-sitting job for the weekend and started work on the CD cataloging.  The software installation went very smoothly and I was able to start work right away.  I know I sound like a geek when I say this, but scanning bar codes and updating computer records is a fun task!  Ideas for my journal from Valley Ridge are stewing in my head and I'd really like to make time to work on that.  That needs fewer distractions though.  I probably can't work on it while I watch MadMen (thanks a lot Pamela) as I've been doing for the magnet frames.

Things have been a little quiet at the store but the students are definitely finding us so that is nice.  As I write, someone is sitting at our table snippeting wedding photos.  It's so nice to have people come in and work on projects.  Ironman is in town this weekend as well and Sachi made some sample buttons to encourage people to come in and make their own.  One is "Iron___" so you can fill in whatever you want.  Of course we had to make a "carbo load" button!

I'm taking a cue from Emily and going to try always working on magnet picture frames.  Before I'd make a whole bunch and then rest (for longer than I should) and then all of a sudden I'd be behind.  Emily seems to always be making bottlecaps.  Last week I cut a bunch of paper and three nights this week, I glued paper for magnet picture frames and made magnets during the day.  I still have to drill and set eyelets but I will have a batch ready before we get low on stock at the store.  I'll have to try and keep up the pace... because, whether you like it or not, Christmas is coming.

This morning I stopped at my parents (where my sewing studio is).. what a disaster it is up there!  Sewing projects strewn all over!  There are crowns to work on, artist pockets, headbands, various quilts... and shhhh.. I think I'm actually going to manage to get Lily's baby present finished in time for her first birthday.  I did some sewing this morning; there's probably a few more hours left.  Wish me luck!

And then there's the Glitter Workshop Craftacular coming up.  Anthology plans to be a sponsor again and we hope we can have a table there as well.  Pamela will come in and help us out at the store and Tom & Sachi can be at the Craftacular.  It is moving closer downtown to the Masonic Center with lots more space so we are looking forward to that.  It's a slight challenge because many of "our" artists will be there with their own booths so it's up to Sachi and I to stock our tables.  Hmm.  Looks like more magnet picture frames are called for.  I'm getting a new soldering iron for my birthday so maybe I can finish up some of those pendants that I started a while ago.  I know it is slightly morbid, but I like my cemetary angel pendants.  There's an angel on one side and a photo from a Paris cemetary -- someone famous like Jim Morrison, Baudelaire, or Sartre.

Eek!  There's so much to do!  I have to get to work!

I am so excited to work on the Craftacular with you ladies. It is going to be a fun show and the new venue is amazing.

I also hope to get you restocked soon after the terrific August I had! Thank you so much.
