As part of Anthology's mission to facilitate creativity, we offer projects at the shop. We supply materials and instruction for you to enjoy some crafting time at our table. We occasionally have drop-in projects but there are many other projects that you can choose from.
We've had craft parties including: college students making decoupage mirrors, one bridal shower party making flag books, birthday parties making decoupage mirrors, birthday parties and a Cub Scout troop making comb-bound journals. And we've had parties for all ages, though age 8 and up seems to work best for manual dexterity matters. Even people who say they aren't creative seem to enjoy a short opportunity to work on a simple project!
Please adhere to the following BASIC RULES:
1. Reservations must be made at least three days in advance. Call as early as possible to make sure your date is available.
2. No more than 6 people per reservation.
3. Prices and projects are subject to change. Please call or email for more information or to confirm your selection.
4. ONLY ONE PROJECT PER APPOINTMENT. In other words: each member of the party cannot be working on a different project.
Projects include:
Altered Golden book. $10. Start with an old Golden book, rip out pages, add new ones and decorate. This was perhaps one of our most popular activities of the recent birthday parties.
MakeMemo Board. $22 plus $2 per magnet. Start with an unfinished wooden frame. Paint with sparkling watercolors and decoupage scraps of paper around the frame. The 12 x 12 magnetic interior holds a piece of scrapbook paper on top of a magnetic background (so you can switch the background paper when you want to change the look a bit). Use our button machine to make magnets, or use your own.
Decoupage Mirror Frame: $15; supplies include wooden mirror frame, scraps of fabric, mod podge and brushes. Mirrors can also be made using scraps of paper, though the finished product is not as smooth as with fabric.
Button Bracelet: $14; select papers or bring in your own and make 6 buttons that will be attached to a bracelet. Glue needs to set for 24 to 72 hours so bracelets need to be picked up at least a day later. *Photo paper is too thick so any pictures need to be printed out or photocopied onto regular office paper.
Button Picture Frames: $1 per button; bring in your own frame or purchase one of ours. Select papers or bring in your own and make buttons to be glued around a frame. Glue needs to set for 24 to 72 hours so frames are available for pick-up on the following day. *see above note about photo paper.
Photo snippet collage: $25; Bring in your own photographs (such as from a trip or special event) and we'll use the paper cutter to cut them into one- or two-inch squares and arrange them in a frame, taking into consideration foreground, horizon, small- and large-scale. Frame is provided.
Embellished chip board book. Prices vary depending on size and style of base pieces. $8 - $18. Paint and glue heavy chip board pieces, embellish with buttons, ribbons, paper flowers & more. Leave space to add your own photos for a keepsake book.
Party garlands. Purchase one of our packs or assemble your own assortment of papers and trinkets. Ribbon is available for purchase by the yard. Hole puncher and paper cutter can be used at the craft table to assemble garlands.
Card-making: $8 for 5 cards; supplies include rubber stamps and stamp pads, twinkling H20s, patterned papers, decorative punches and scissors.
Comb-bound mini journal. $8. Create a mini notebook and decorate pages with rubber stamps/watercolors (or bring in your own scrapbook/decorated papers). Punch and bind using the comb-binding gadget.

Cloth Button Bracelet. $16-$24. Cut out scraps of fabric and create fabric-covered buttons to glue onto bracelet blank. Allow 24 hours for glue to set.
Gift tags. $2 ea. Choose from assorted papers, sparkling watercolors, glitters, sparkling spritzes, rubber stamps and more to create holiday gift tags.
Paper stars. $2 ea. Use scraps of cardstock to assemble stars for package decoration and tree ornaments.
Altered journal, collaged and tabbed for notes. $7.
Altered shirts. Bring in your own shirts, onesies, skirts and use Heat N' Bond to apply scraps of fabric. Hand stitch edges for extra decoration.
